instead you get to deal with me blabbering about my ocs for a bit



these are the ones ive been playing with the most lately
left to right: siavash, eirian and zeke
siavash is a demon, eirian is a fairy and zeke's a human except for the fact that his dad is a monster


zeke's magic stems from his dad, so to use it he needs to draw power from the image of his dad
uh, that skull mask is the one he used till he was old enough to get a tattoo
the tattoo is less strong but far more convenient and less bulky
once drawn, he channels the magic through a staff (its a broom handle)
he could just use his hands to cast but his dad's magic is cold and unpleasant to touch


he has a bunch of family members who are also monsters
unlike his dad, they don't often take a human (or even a physical) shape when they come to visit


sometimes he feels a bit more like his dad than normal
if he just took a moment to calm down he’d realise this wasnt really happening


siavash has a glamour he wears around humans, but its not very good
zeke saw through it right away but hes pretty good at seeing truths


his body constantly produces smoke which comes out of his mouth or nose, so he smokes cigarettes to make sure normal people dont notice
he also has some minor fire starting abilities but not much and he's not great with them


idk hes an ok guy even if he is a bit blunt and forward



eirian's a member of the seelie court but he did something stupid and he's lying low till it all dies down
which could be a while or it could be no time at all
he's finding it surprisingly easy to adjust to the human world


hes a lot better at glamours than siavash, and he changes his hair pretty often, just because he can
in court he was relatively plain-looking so he really enjoys being pretty compared to everyone around him


he lived in the park for a bit until zeke basically forced eirian to move in with him and siavash


these two dont really get on
if theyre arguing too loudly when zeke wants to do something important like sleeping they get kicked out and have to kind of just wander around until theyre allowed back in

And what pillow are you speaking of.

if you are not aware of the pillow it is better it remains that way

i havent actually decided what i want to do with these guys properly yet
i know they have stories to tell but i cant decide if i should just write them or if they need a comic

actually his names arawn (hes from wales), legally speaking but he generally goes by aaron to make it easier for everyone
hes a short-tempered wizard who got a teaching degree and then found out he hates kids
but he cant get a job doing anything else, hes a fucking english lit teacher
so mostly he shouts a lot and would take it out on the people he loves if they were around but he got out of wales as soon as he possibly could and now he lives alone with two cats who hate him


his cats dont have names
the ginger fat one sleeps a lot and eats things it shouldnt and throws up spells
the skinny black one goes places it shouldnt and gets in the way and trips people over a lot

but ive been thinking real hard lately about the paranatural cast in highschool
this is just max and johnny but sums everything up pretty nicely - max is basically exactly the same but taller, and johnny gets a leather jacket ahahahahah

About how much time a day average do you spend drawing?

Honestly I spend most of my time drawing. I don't time myself or anything, but I always have something to doodle on, and I don't have a job right now so I have a lot of free time to draw, so I can't answer the first question because I don't know.
I do know that I've spent nearly all my life practicing, though, and I'm 21. So, if you're asking how long it takes to get to this point (and i will say here that im still not happy with where my skill level is), the answer is years of work and pain.

As for finishing an average piece, that really depends on how I'm working.
Again, I don't time myself ever, so these are mostly guesses, but this took about an hour and a half ish(?) (mostly spent editing and refining) while watching a livestream:

this took a couple hours, but spaced out in little ten-minute bursts over a day

similarly this took maybe three/four hours but again spaced out over a couple of days

and this is a lot older, so i could probably do it faster now if i tried, but it took me maybe fifteen hours (maybe more) over a couple months. it was my warm-up piece for a while, id work on it till i got frustrated and then draw whatever id actually been planning to draw

basically what im saying is i am really bad at timing myself because i dont see art as a chore, it's something i do because i enjoy it
so those timings might all be way off. time flies when youre having fun, you know?
