| Then I'm guessing $1.20, since coffee is basically juice made from beans and served hot. |

| Sorry sprite, it has nothing to do with ingredients. |

| The reasoning is a little weird, but I'm thinking it might be $2.40. - bizarre reasoning - I'm trying to think creatively:
After a number of ideas, I think I found one that kinda works. It's 30 cents for each spoken vowel sound. I'll bold spoken vowels and italicize silent ones.
Alcohol: 90 cents (30*3) Juice: 30 cents (30*1) Soda: 60 cents (30*2) Water: 60 cents (30*2)
So: Coffee: 60 cents, *4 for a quart is 2.40. (I'm counting the long "E" as one sound, because it is really.)
So, that's my logic. Probably wrong, but at least I found a working system.

| That is entirely correct.
I found about this riddle when it was used for a high school math contest, along with several other incredible hard math problems, and ya had a time limit of 45 minutes to solve as many as you could. Only one person managed to solve this particular riddle, it wasn't me, but it made me groan afterwards. |

| Three men (We'll call them 1, 2, and 3) stand in a line. By order of the King, they must all stand in the line until they can solve the riddle he has put forth.
This is the riddle: Each man has had a hat put on his head. They each need to determine what color their own hat is. Each hat is either black or white, and there is at least one white hat and at least one black hat. Since they're standing in a line, 1 can see the color of 2 and 3's hats, 2 can see the color of 3's hat, and 3 can't see any. They are not allowed to look in any other direction.
After a long while, none of them have solved the riddle. But a while after that, one of them does. Who is it, and how does he solve it?
(Sorry this took so long, I kinda forgot about it....) |

| 3 or 1 If 1 saw two black hats then he could say that his is white for sure, because there must be at least one white hat. Then 2 would be able to say his is black and same with 3. However if 1 saw a black hat and a white hat he would have to be silent because he can't figure it out. 2 can't answer if 1 can't, and so 3 can answer with a fifty fifty chance of correctness. I think :/ |

| Nope! That's not quite it. - Hint:
The initial period of silence after the question is posed is important to the solution. (The "long while" in which none of them have managed to solve it.)

| Because 1 &2 were quiet thats how 3 figured out what hat he was wearing? |

| 2 could figure it out because 1 stayed silent (meaning that he saw 1 black hat and 1 white hat, as he would have been able to figure out his own hat color otherwise). Because 2 knows what color 3's hat is, he can infer from 1's silence that his hat is the other color. |

| Yay!
Here's one:
A farmer claims to have 4 trees all equidistant from each other. How could this be possible? |

| It would be possible if one tree was on a tall hill directly in the center of an equilateral triangle formed by the other three trees. The added incline could make it the same distance from the other three trees as they are from each other. |
