I can never read something awesome without making a character for it. So here's mine.
dear god i should have shrunk the file first
Anyway, this is Judy. As you can see from her stereotypical large glasses and book, she's your average Shy Nerd person. She lives on the east hill of Mayview, and has never heard of the Activity Consortium or the Club in the west hill school. Judy has not been possessed, nor has she used a tool. For the most part she ignores all ghosts and spirits and focuses on having a normal life.
The awesome-looking spirit over there is Conjunctiva, who considers herself a friend of Judy's despite the fact that Judy doesn't. She's got a bit of a whimsical personality. Her spectral energy is purple, while Judy's is yellow. Conjunctiva's power is to turn things invisible. She sees with her head-eye, but not the one on her tail... because it's clouded by... *snicker* cat-aracts.
Thanks! I'm not too experienced with animals (or details like twirly vein structures), so Conjunctiva was a little hard to pencil down, but I think she's worth it. I really want to design more spirits now; I love the kind of creatures Zach's been thinking up.

This is a superneat thing that you've done! So superneat in fact that you've prompted me to invent a new compound word: superneat.

Superneat and super cool? Sweet!
I spent 5ever staring at the PN cast page to get Zack's style down, so I'm glad to see it turned out well.
As I said before, I've been wanting to design more stuff, but my creativity has been kind of failing me for the past couple months. Do you think I should take requests?
In my experience having other people make suggestions for your subject matter is a pretty good way to get past a creative block. If you wanna do requests Id say go for it

So I came up with this idea for a Spirit linked to the decay of old or abandoned buildings. I'll probably draw it later but for now here's a written description.
It's called a Myconidarian. Typically there is a single large "Mother" from which a colony will originate. The spirit resembles a Jellyfish floating in the air, but, upon close inspection, appears to also resemble various fungi with it's "cap" resembling that of an amanita mushroom patched with lichen and shelf fungi extending out from the edges. The "tentacles" hang from the floating body and, while they resemble the tendrils of a jellyfish, they are very thin and branched like roots. A Mother Myconidarian will also have a twisted mass of lobes dangling from the center of her cap. This mass seems only partially solid as it will irregularly "drip" pieces of itself which bloom into polyps and quickly grow into smaller though mature Myconidarians. A "Mother Myco" can sometimes be found floating above an old decrepit building with her tentacleroots embedded in its walls. A Mother is attracted to stagnation and atmospheres of disrepair. Once a Mother has taken root, she will gradually grow and bloom her swarm and the location of her roost will be nigh impossible to restore, bearing with it a strong sense of foreboding emptiness.
Spirits caught by a myconidarian's roots will be entangled and grow lethargic, decaying gradually over time and growing progressively weaker. Spectrals caught in a Mycocnidarian's grip will feel a pervading weakness of body and lethargy and their stores of Spectral Energy will gradually diminish. Extreme cases have resulted in catatonic states or death.
Oh yes I know! The way I imagine it though is that the spirit operates less on will than instinct. Kinda like the bat like hunger spirit that was eating all the ghosts
I could also imagine the spirit being in a medium or tool that isn't quite so villanous. Villainy really is all about choices you make after all.
Oh yes, but I'm speaking from a narrative standpoint. It's the kind of power that would be wonderfully thematically appropriate for a villain, or at least an anti-hero.
On the other hand, it could be a cool Trope Subversion as a really heroic hero's ability. Would help him pacify his enemies without harming them excessively. Who knows?
I was also thinking that a bubble wand or a bubble blower gun would probably be the ideal tool for this thing as it has the similar theme of something aquatic floating through the air with the potential to reproduce rapidly.
Imagine a horde of bubbles that, instead of popping on contact, enveloped whatever they touched and drained it of energy. Kinda like that one scene in the Incredibles.

This is great and I love it. Nice job, Cosmo~
But, hm, would it really be all that powerful if it were one of the less sentient spirits? Especially since it grows in packs. The wielder might need a Grudge version, like Max.

These ideas are sooooo good!
I kind of have an idea for an OC. Basically, he uses a Yoyo as his weapon, and has a sort of frenemy Relationship with his spirit. I havent decided what his spirit would be like yet, but I DO know what kind of Yoyo his would be like:

Yeah I was thinking the weilder would at least need a Mother. The Myconidarians I think might function under a sort of hive mind originating from the Mother, so she would likely be at least mostly sentient. Perhaps they get more cognizant as they grow?
I think a Grudge form of one of these things would be hideously terrifying and really hard to manage. It would probably aggressively strangle anything it would grab a hold of and possible just disintegrate stuff. Which would be less than fun to fight I think.
And King i don't know if you meant to include a picture. But if you did it's not showing up for me.

Here's an O.C. I put together in 2013. I'm just going to paste the description I put on the DeviantArt post without going into too much detail for fear of venturing into Gary Stu territory.
The spectral pictured here is accompanied by his two favourite tool spirits who have earned a chance to stretch their legs. > Of Vortoises three heads, one tells only the truth, another only tells lies and the third tells situation inappropriate jokes... if only they could stop changing faces and places so he could figure out which was which. It calls his signature fitted cap home > PortaLord stays in one of the numerous wrist bands our friend here wears amongst the arsenal of other spirits that belong to each one (I was too lazy to do them all) Hm... I wonder what the medical repercussions of keeping 6 tools on your person all at the same time are?... Needs more citrus.
Let me know what you think. D.
