Sure, but she could easily chat with us on her off hours. It'd be all right!

Yeah.

I bet she'd have fun in space when the gravity is turned off.

I miss NinjaKitten. I wonder when she'll get back from space Japan. And I wonder what the 4th of July was like for her when she wasn't in America.

Maybe she found some adorable aliens to celebrate with.

Oh haha yeah I guess I forgot she mentioned that detail ; w; thanks.

But how sad will it be when she returns and learns that I won this thread right before she came back. Sad

HEY GUYS, I'm back! And just in time to save my crown, I see.

Unfortunately, my Japan trip was fairly normal, (for a trip to another country,) but it was still lots of fun!

Hmmmmm
So I went to Japan. I had two flights, for a total of around 10 hours, I think? Other than breakfast and lunch before I left, I ate nothing but candy on the flights, and I didn't sleep, so when I got to the dorm I was staying at, I threw up in the toilet. X( My first flight got delayed, so I had to be rushed to the next one, and my bags were left behind. I would get them at my dorm 3 days from when I arrived, so I had to wear the same clothes for three days. Luckily for me, I had packed the most important stuff in my carry-on (phone, charger, money, etc.) So I would survive,

That night and the next day I felt kinda bleh (especially the first night) and really homesick, but I got over it pretty quickly. It might have been culture shock? I kinda doubt it though. Anyway, I was on the trip to study Japanese, and I arrived on Sunday, so the next day I went to the school I'd be studying at; GenkiJACS. I didn't have any notebooks or anything, but that was okay since I could buy a notebook pretty much wherever, and while I didn't know what was a pencil and what was a pen, I had brought a pen so I used that for a while. I met a lot of cool people in my class, and I had a lot of fun! One of them left the first week, and two others left at the end of the second week, so week three was a little lonely, but I really enjoyed the trip! I went to an onsen on my second weekend (after staying home and playing games on the first) which was reaaaally relaxing, and you should totally go if you ever get the chance. I went to a lot of stores and places with my new friends after and before classes, (since sometimes they were in the afternoons and sometimes before) and I bought a yukata for myself during the last week, complete with geta! (Those weird sandal things.) I ate a lot of junk for snacks, but I had proper breakfasts and dinners at the dorm. I also bought stuff like souvenirs for my friends and family, and there was a Pokemon Center! It had SO much stuff in it, I almost died. (Not really though! Smile ) They also had a Wii (U?) so I got to play Smash Bros in the lounge area, and I found a drink that tasted like a popsicle that I ate all the time when I went to Sweden as a kid. (Confirmed to be actual taste by Swede who was in my class.)

But anyway, I had a lot of fun, and the trip was a blast! (Especially once I got my clothes back.) I didn't need to do laundry, which made me very happy since the washing machine and drier are so different there from the ones I have over here, and I doubt my clothes would like what they did to them. Plus I had to buy my own detergent and hamper, so I didn't wanna bother. At the school you could also sign up for extra "culture" classes, and I got to visit a temple and a shrine, and make bento and cosplay. It was really enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it!

For the trip back I bought a lot of candy that wasn't straight-out candy-candy (like hard candies and gummies, though I still bought some of those.) I mostly had stuff like Poky and these strawberry-flavored straw-tube things that are super good. But I brought way too much and didn't eat it all on the plane. (More for me when I got back!) To entertain myself during the flights, I watched a lot of movies that they had available (The Dressmaker, while kinda dark, was REALLY good!) and I also drew and listened to music. I even came up with a cool alteration to one of my dresses which would turn it from kinda bleh to "Saturday Night Party" material. (Plus accessories.)

All in all, though the start was a little rocky, the trip was awesome and I would totally go again! (Though I'd rather go to Sweden again. It's been years...)

So yeah. That was my trip. (In less detail than I could have used.)

It definitely does sound like you had a blast!

Did you ever do that thing where you run to school with toast in your mouth cause you're late for school?

I actually did do that once.

And it was a huge coincidence that I happened to be late on a day where they had bread, since they didn't always have that.

I also rediscovered that I am bad at running. I thought I might be a little better, but nope. I couldn't even run HALF the way to the station.... X(

That sounds like a really cool trip! Sorry you got sick/homesick at first and that your luggage got left behind. Sad

How cool that you bought a Yukata! They're really neat, I bought one for my FlyFF character once, haha. Did you take it with you back to the States?

Wow that's kinda cool that it did happen.

So like, you have poor stamina when it comes to running?

I certainly do.  Never have been able to run more than a quarter-mile without feeling like someone's stabbing my heart.

I used to run pretty good, but I got really out of shape after my heart surgery. Right now I cant jog a block without feeling out of breath, but I'm working on my stamina. I want to at least be able to walk around town with ease, so I'm walking around the block 3 days out of the week.

*tears of joy* I'm not alone!

Yes, of COURSE I brought it home! Why wouldn't I? I spent like 10000 yen on that thing.

I dunno why I have a hard time running. I think it was worse since I had to carry a pretty heavy bag while I ran. (It was a messenger bag so it had a strap across my chest, which probably didn't help.) But even when I'm not carrying a messenger bag, I can't run very far without getting out of breath and feeling strained and tired. Maybe a block or two, at most. Though it varies. Sometimes I can run for quite a while and I'm fine, but other times I can only run a few steps. I think it might have something to do with my breathing? Since if I run, I breathe hard, and my lungs quickly feels sore. I dunno though.

...Not quickly, though!  Just walk here, we'll meet up in like 20 minutes or something.

P.S.
I didn't know you had heart surgery; have you been doing okay ever since?

Haha that's the joke! (I'm amused too much at that)

Health-wise yeah I've been going alright, just my stamina gone way down, but like I said, I'm working on it.

Yeah! Cheering! Smile

You know, among the tens of jobs I've considered (including the ones from childhood, such as "Princess") I've actually thought about maybe being a surgeon before, but then I looked up what I'd have to do, and one of the requirements was pretty much "don't sleep." I like sleep, so no thanks. Kudos to surgeons for not sleeping and still managing to function AND save people's lives/health/etc.
