| what do you think mr. spindler's power is?
i think he has the ability to manipulate light.
many pages focusing on him have some kind of unique lighting around him: http://paranatural.net/chapter-1-page-38/ http://paranatural.net/chapter-3-page-41/ http://paranatural.net/chapter-3-page-44/ http://paranatural.net/chapter-3-page-45/ (which could all be just dramatic effect of course) and the only demonstration of his powers we've seen is when he begins to charge up some attack of his own to beat the bat grudge: http://paranatural.net/chapter-1-page-60/ some kind of mix of white and black energies. notice how the black energy has a kind of dark shading around it, while the white energy glows.
and, while it's been said a tool doesn't necessarily require some kind of connection to the abilities of the spirit possessing it, a pair of sunglasses (mr. spender's assumed tool) fits nicely with a theme of light manipulation, like a book and paper, paintbrush and paint, and an aluminum bat and magnetism.
but, half the fun of speculation is hearing other people's theories! what do you think? |

| I think you are right,
But as just an observation, the black and white reminds me of a silicon mixture and/epoxy mixture that takes two things and combines them to create a finnish project. He could be creating two different materials and combined them to produce an effect. |

| Something with light and dark, definitely. The charging panel makes me think he can do some sort of eye-beamy thing with the sunglasses, though I do wonder about what exactly he did to Isaac's lightning bolt on Ch3P44, since that looked to have nothing to do with the sunglasses at all. Maybe he's a medium himself? |

I think that is just an advance Spectral technique. It looks like, to me, Mr. Spender somehow converted Isaac's spark of electricity back to spectral energy and then either absorbed it or dissapated it. |

| It would make sense if Mr. Spender did end up shooting some sort of light out of his eyes since i'm pretty sure Zack is a fan of x-men. |

That seems to be the case, according to this page this page. I think that Mr. Spender's power may have something to do with absorbing energy, storing it, and then blasting it when he needs to. |

| I think it's either Light and Shadow, or what Leo said. The storing of energy, and then he can use his glasses to blast it. |

| My thoughts are that it's some sort energy absorption/releasing thing. As in, he can absorb, say, light, and release it whenever he wants, thus explaining the odd lighting around him, and the light/dark swirly-eye-thing. |

| Both theories make a lot of sense - it'll be really interesting to see where this goes. Personally, I'm leaning more towards the absorption/release at will of energy idea - it just seems to fit a bit better. Although, at the same time, I think the whole 'shady guy with light abilities' persona would really fit Spender well~ |

| You called it. No way that's just dramatic effect. The guy has light powers, and it's not even his glasses that are a tool. The guy's a medium. Seems more likely his glasses actually mask something about his eyes that have been altered by his possession. |

| Based on this, I'd have to imagine his spirit, in whatever form it aids him, gives him light powers. |

| And him flicking out the light- it's pretty much confirmed at this point.
On the flip side, I'm still expecting to find out that his glasses are his tool. Sunglasses lessen light thus representing control over light. Plus, the page header before the site was re-styled was a book, a paint brush, an aluminum bat, and a pair of shades laying in a pile. The significance of that has to be noted. Especially since there was nothing in the pile to represent Isaac. |

| He also seems to be able to use his sun glass shwings as throwing stars in chapter 4 page 25 and 26. adding to him using light is that on his cast page he seems to be holding a light-y thing |

| Woah woah woah wait.
I just noticed the newspaper clippings in the panel Terezi over there posted. "Mayview Maelstrom?" Is that a thing? Is that a thing that we'll get to see? |

| It might have something to do with the mystery Mr. Spender's been chasing. I wouldn't be surprised if we got more information on it further down the road.

| And as an idle musing, maybe it has something to do with Isaac's spirit, the weather spirit of assumed great and terrible power. |

| They mentioned Storm Gods being taken down by Spender on page 46, and Forge said he defeated the strongest spirit, maybe they're connected? |

| I don't know about that, I think the spirit he defeated was probably the spirit Lucifer was working so hard to contain. |

| Maybe. If that's the case, I guess Lucifer has powers over light and shadow, and the Other Guy has something else, because Forge seemed pretty unimpressed by that trick. |

| No, Lucifer is definitively light.
Spender said the other guy needed was going to start earning his keep before using shadow powers, unless there is a third party, cthulu shadow is the shadow controller. |

| Yeah, that definitely makes more sense.
Maybe 'defeated' could also refer to actually killing it, so they're not around at all? |

And as revealed in the latest updates: Spender can bend reality as well. |

| Nah, that's just an expansion on his Light/Shadow powerset. Note that the hole only appears where the tree's shadow falls and how it goes when the light shifts. Earlier too in the fight, his manipulations were mainly just shadow-boxing made combat ready. |
