On Page 4.120 and Page 4.121, Boss Leader seemed to think something was nearby, or at least watching her and Max.

On Page 5.20, Max thinks he and Isabel are being followed.  On that page we do get a hand on a tree (not the same as the spirit that was currently possessing the dog, as it had wacky limbs).

Could they be the same thing?  The common thread between them so far was spying on Max.

I suppose it's possible, though the thing Boss Leader seemed to sense is likely the second mystery spirit possessing Max. There's also the fact that the whole Boss Leader talking to Max thing happened in mindspace while the thing/person following Max isn't inside his head.

Before the comments section was taken down I've seen people speculating that it was PJ following Max because he overheard Max and Isabel saying how friends have eachother's backs and PJ really wants to be friends with Max and probably doesn't feel cool enough for that. But the hand doesn't really looks like it could belong to PJ since it doesn't have a sleeve... Though it being PJ would sorta explain the voice telling Max to duck here. Which btw I find really weird that Max doesn't even seem to remember, even if he was kinda distracted by the whole murderthrow thing.

Kinda derailed my train of thought there and I have no idea what I was even trying to say other than that I don't think it's likely that they're the same thing. I have no real opinion about who/what was following Max and Isabel though... Could be PJ, could be some random other thing/person we don't even know about. Could be someone's disembodied armghost >_>

Fair points! I also think it was PJ telling Max to Duck, so it would be fair to assume he followed Max to school. The thing with Paranatural (re: missing sleeve) is you can never tell when things are for artistic effect or for real. I also think it's weird that Max didn't follow up on the voice telling him to duck, but I'm sure it'll still come up.

One thing that does bother me about PJ following Max to school is that it's rather dangerous for ghosts to just fly around with all those spirits trying to eat them...
Even with Lefty to protect him, it'd still be a pretty dangerous trip to make...

Wait I always thought the alt-text was being serious, and Boss Leader has a slight amount of meta-awareness, but not enough to know that it is Meta-awareness. It's probably like a sixth-sense "I'm being watched" kind of thing but she can't put her finger on it.
