Anyone here hunt? Favorite monster? Class of weapon? How much do you hate the Plesioth's hipcheck?

Personally I've been playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the past couple of weeks. I can't decide on a weapon to stick with!

I've only played Monster Hunter 1 on the PS2. However, I've seen my little brother play both Freedom and Freedom Unite, and I am planning to play both of those this summer when I go home! So, yeah, actually just a newb tongue

Not sure how I can answer "way to play"... My weapon of choice is definitely the great sword, though I haven't exactly branched out.

I like Monster Hunter, I barely, however began the game before something went wrong with the box my older brother installed (hacked) all the games onto, so i never got to play it, cuz it was one of the 79/124 games that crashes the system when you try and play it

Oh well I've played quite a few of them. Monster Hunter 1,2,Freedom Unite, Tri, Portable Third and now 3U. As I said before, I can't decide on a weapon to use. So many choices.

I haven't played many of the games, but I'm fond of the ones I have. That is to say, Monster Hunter Tri and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Weapon of choice for the first one is a long sword, but in the second one I can't decide between dual swords or gun lances.

I can't really comment on the plesioth's hipcheck, because the furthest I've gotten in either game is the Gobul, but I'm slowly working my way up in ultimate and hopefully I'll be fighting tougher monsters soon.

*EXPLODES IN* DID SOMEONE SAY MONSTER HUNTER YES I AM MONSTER HUNTER. I got mh3u last year and my god it's one of my favorite games ever. I typically play with the longsword because it's awesome, I also play with the switchaxe on an alt file. I hate the plesioth's hipcheck, however it's hilarious to watch him derp around on land whilst you stab him with giant swords and stuff. My favorite monster is probably stygian zinogre, cause i have a plush of it, though i haven't quite gotten far enough to fight it cause my 3ds has been dead forever and the charger's broken.

plesioth is where I'm current at and he's about as annoying as legend states.

Oh man. I'm so sad that nobody's posted here in a while.

I'm a pretty long term MH nerd.
I played MH1 on ps2 and I think most is not all the games release in the US for psp. I also played MH3 and MH3U.

Like I said: MH nerd.

I tend to be a heavy weapons kind of guy. I like the Hammer and the Greatsword and the Long Sword. I've tried pretty much all the others but I could never really get a good handle on me and I tend to play Berserker style: just run in and deal as much damage as you can before you get smacked.

I've got to say, while I love so many of the old monsters, I think my favorite so far has been the Jhen Moran (sp?). The fight from the ship is just too much fun.
