| Real name, username, nickname, whatever I'm really curious about everyones names!!! I wanna know the history behind it, why it connects to you, everything. Names are so interesting and each one has a story it's so interesting!!!!
For example my name Mika (Hawaiian for Mike) isn't my given name. It's actually Tiare (a flower) which was inspired by a old song my mother loved. And timeboii is my time-traveling persona! (It's fairly recent.)
So...what's the reason behind your name? |

| That's really interesting. A time-travelling persona? Is that from a show/comic/somewhere? My username comes from my semi obsession with crystals... I always have a hard time coming up with names for online places and for the homestuck forum I put some serious thought into it and came up with crystallinePerplexity (also on pesterchum, if anybody else has that, feel free to pester me >_> ). After working on a fanflash with a bunch of people, often working in chats, it sorta got condensed into crystalline so I tend to try and take that as username whenever I join a new place, but it's literally always already taken... A lot of the more well known crystals tend to often be unavailable too. Apophyllite is currently one of my favourite crystals and is obscure enough to not be already taken by someone else XD |

| Hm.
Well, I got my username PariZade from an Arabian Nights book I found in this antique bookstore in town. One story was called "The Jealous Sisters", and it was about these three children of the Sultan. Of course, they didn't know this because the older sisters of the Sultan's wife, being all jelly, sent the children down a river each time she gave birth, only to be found and raised by the Sultan's gardener. There were two sons, Bahman and Perviz, and a daughter, Parizade. Parizade was just flipping awesome in the story, so I took that name in Flipnote Hatena, and just stuck with it.
I go by my middle name Robin because I like it better than my first name, Andrea. It's more androgynous and I tend to like that. The Also, on many sights, such as Tumblr, I now go by the username "LittleBirdly". The reason behind that is pretty simple. In Livestreams, I would go by "A_Little_Birdy", from the phrase "A little birdy told me". Of course, one day I went and totally slipped on the keyboard and typed "A_Little_Birdly", so I just went with it.
I'm commonly called Zade and Birdly. Don't call me Robin unless I know you well, please. |

| I decided to go for something different for this forum, but was stuck on what exactly to pull from. I remembered playing Animal Crossing: Wild World when I was a kid (nine years ago). It also means "a long-winded talk with no real substance." as a noun, which is even better. Thus, Blathers. |

| When I make a new account anywhere I usually look around my room and pick a username based on what I see. I had a little skeleton toy on my desk at the time, and at some point I guess I had posed it to look like it was sleeping. Thus, Lazybones.
Also I think it's cute <3 |

| I was making up weird names when I was in middle school for this Hunger Games simulator, and I came up with Soroya. It kinda stuck, and after the first few places where i just tried to use Soroya for a name didn't pan out, I just added '123'. |

| I was originally going to use my Mystery-Shack forum username, OntheCeiling. unfortunately, I didn't realize in time how the login system generates an account prior to redirecting you to the completion page, resulting in a surface-level error, and didn't check my primary email. I ended up going through the entire process again under the false assumption that someone here had taken my username, and I was going to march in guns blazing in an accusatory fashion. I was mistaken, and forgot to log out of the secondary account prior to making a first post. Now I'm stuck with this one. hoorayyyy |

| Ah. So I guess that means you took the ceiling.
The story behind my name isn't very special. I liked cats, I liked ninjas, so I combined the two. And now, years later, I'm still using it, or variations of it. |

| My use of the 'totaldbag' moniker came about because I had an account as a regular user on a synchtube chat, but, whenever I went on the chat using my phone, I would go on as a guest using a random name; usually something stupid. This quickly developed into a theme, usually something along the lines of 'dbag'. I intentionally used the abbreviation 'dbag' instead of the full 'douche bag' because I would often create pointlessly long names out of them, like 'totaldbaginyourhouse'. Due to repeated use, this shortened into the much more manageable 'totaldbag', which became a sort of go-to alias in case I'm ever staring at a sign-up screen. Not really an interesting story but meh. |

| I'd been considering joining this place for a few days but couldn't decide on a username. Today I ate soup. What was left in the pot became scummy, and I decided I liked the phrase "soup scum" enough to register with it as my username.
Soup is great. |

| But only if it's the right kind of soup.
My real name (which shall remain a secret) was based off of a lot of things, apparently. It's a month, and has something to do with flowers, and is related to some sort of creative person too. Plus it's a family name. So, I guess there's a lot of background to it? But I mostly just ignore that background. To me, it's just my name! |

isyourrealnamemay Yeah, most meaning with names tends to fade. The people who consider their names to be particularly significant are often either painfully arrogant or in an innocent minority. Safe to say you're not unusual for not swelling with pride every time your name is mentioned. |

I think that if people swelled with pride when they hear their name, then the most vain people would have exploded by now, and a few other people too. The people with common names would just hear their names so often that they'd swell up like balloons and just pop. Everyone would have to have a super exotic/rare name, or a number name, so that they don't blow up or anything. Either that, or they'd all have to communicate through written words, if it's just hearing their name out loud that causes the swelling. Y'know, this could actually be a fairly interesting premise for a story... *mutters to self*

Oh, but the pride of knowing you of all people* had an unusual name because people cared about you that much to prevent you from exploding (what an honor!) might just trigger the right reaction. RIP.
*Wait, they're affected too. Never mind. |

It's the kind of person I am. I get angry when people don't get my name correct, and never bother to learn other people's names IRL unless I feel like it. Bottom line, I am the 1% |

isyourrealnamemay April, May, or June probably. Okay, those are the three months that are common female names. I guess there's "April showers bring May flowers", but even in that saying, May is the month with flowers. May has mayflowers and may (ehehehehehehehehe) be related to some sort of creative person. June isn't really related to flowers, except for the june bug, but that eats leaves. So May is the only surefire name/flower/month, probably? I'm either missing something obvious with the creative types or am just too lazy to actually look into it. Actually, both. I'm placing bets on May, and if I'm wrong, you can mock me openly and/or pelt me with virtual stones*. I mean you could do that anyway but I'm less likely to insult you this way *I guess real stones would work, too, if you managed to find my address. You stalker. |

*I guess real stones would work, too, if you managed to find my address. You stalker. Oh, I didn't realize they were all talking about the same thing. I thought she meant her entire name put together had those properties (surnames are "family names" so that seemed like an easy one) and the others perhaps referred to middle names. My first name came about because my father heard it in a movie once and really liked it, but that's all you're going to get out of me. =P |

| That possibility hadn't occurred to me, actually. That may be the case. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My real name has a few different meanings, but I don't bother interpreting beyond what my parents have confirmed. I just can't care about it that much. Doesn't really matter, anyway, since I typically just go by a meaningless nickname. Alright, it's not actually meaningless, but the actual denotation is cringeworthy enough that I much prefer my parents' explanation of the choice. That being, the nickname was "unique and cool-sounding" enough to be used.

And by people I mean two of 'em who obviously have too much time on their hands. |
