| I would like some limits established on what can be put in your signature. Really fast or flashy animations are distracting when trying to read, and really large signatures tend to put a bunch of awkward space between posts.
Or just the option to not view signatures would be nice.
No offense if you're into either animated or large signatures. |

| Well excuse you.
Just kidding. Personally I don't think animated sigs are that much of a deal, but you know, different strokes. But I totally agree on the size thing. There should be a height limit. |

| Don't get me wrong, your current sig (while really distracting) isn't too large. I have however ran into a forum poster who had two full screens worth of images in EVERY ONE OF HIS POSTS.

| Well yeah, that's pretty excessive. But yeah, I think your "don't have to view sigs" idea is solid, and should be implemented as an optional feature.
If it's possible, that is. |

| Unfortunately, things to do with signatures need additional scripting, and the ones I've tried so far for toggling signature-viewing don't seem to work. I'll keep looking around, though. In the meantime, I've put in a script to limit signature size, and I'll make an announcement regarding animated signatures. Would you prefer a total ban of them, or a limit on the speed, or something else? |

| Shit sorry sorry sorry, I wasn't even thinking. Make that "you" a "y'all," and we can have a general discussion on this. Apologies again. |

| Really it's not the animation that bothers me, but just how flashy it is. So I guess, failing a visibility toggle, a limit on jumpiness would be my next choice. That being said, I can't imagine any real way to standardize the process. 'jumpiness' and 'flashiness' are hard characteristics to quantify. Also, if I'm in the minority here and everyone else enjoys or doesn't care, just allow the signatures, and I'm sure I can work something out on my end. |

| Well, firstly, I think I'm the only person on the forums with an animated sig? Maybe?
And, although I can understand what you mean by "jumpy" (sort of), I still don't quite see the problem. I guess it's just a personal opinion thing that I don't get, but why is it that bad if it's distracting.
Now flashy, I understand. But mine isn't flashy. When I think flashy, I think porygon episode flash, which would be dangerous. |

| To add more voices to the discussion: yes, I agree with Vuanaunt's suggestion of a signature-toggle feature. Personally, I don't mind most signatures, but I can understand why some people would feel distracted by some of the flashier and/or larger sigs. As the lovely W!tch mentioned, something as flashy as the Porygon flash is quite dangerous for certain people. |

| Maybe a limit to the size of the gif, and if it's too jumpy for someone, a private message asking said to spoiler or remove the gif? Alternatively, if someone decides to be rather rude and refuses to do something like that, a private message to an admin or moderator so they can decide what action to take |

| Ok, so, wait, I just wanna clear everything up.
Is the problem flashiness (which I do not see), or distractingness? |

| Both are problems, but one is a more pressing problem than the other? Because distractingness is subjective, and so is more or less a big deal depending on the person, but if somethings flashy and that affects another forum members health, that's a huge issue. |

| That's what I thought.
And now every signature is Click to view... fantastic. That should be optional, but whatever. |

| This is... probably the closest I'll be able to get to signature toggling for now, unless forumotion adds the feature one day. I can change the appearance of the toggly thing and whatnot and make it look nicer, but I can't get it to be member-determined, only forum-wide, sorry. That in mind, is it something to keep, or something to cut?
Also I can't find anything for limiting GIF sizes in signatures, sorry. Private messages could be a good system, and I can directly edit users' signatures if a situation ever called for it. |

| It seems like a good choice to me, personally. You only need to see a particular forum users signature once, really, and any situation which calls for a reminder of what it looks like is easy to handle. |

| I think my opinion on this whole thing is pretty clear. I don't like the toggly thing unless it's optional, and since it's not, I don't like it. Selfish? MAYBE.
Allow me to dispense some advice. In my experience running forums, the best way to deal with signature situations is as such:
-First, set a size limit. The best way is to make an example signature at the size limit you want, and if anything exceeds that, you send the sig owner a PM asking them to reduce the size.
-When it comes to GIFs, handle them on a case-by-case basis. If somebody has a problem with a person's sig, the best way to deal with it is for them to PM you, or any applicable mods/admins, and have said mod/admin act as a middleman between the two parties to reach a compromise. |

| Well, I suggest that the best thing to do with regards to the toggle is to leave it in, but keep looking for a way to permanently set your preference for toggled/untoggled. Maybe you could reverse it, so that its naturally shown and theres a click to hide button, but I don't know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing, since its not possible to go from having seen a thing to never having seen that thing, but its easy to go from not having seen a thing to having seen that thing? |

| If it's alright, I'll wait for some more input before taking more action on the toggle in place. I do have a size limit set up though that should limit/resize, and I will continue to look for a way to make the toggly thing a member preference. I can make it click to hide, but it would only hide signatures when clicked one-by-one, and then resets when refreshed, so I don't know if that would be any better.
There does seem to be a poll set up by staff on the Forumotion forum regarding this issue and about installing the feature, but I have no idea if it would actually result in an installation, and if so, how long it would take. Fingers crossed.
Terribly sorry for this inconvenience, though, I'm trying my best. |

| It's ok, hon, we understand. Running a forum is difficult. You're trying your damnedest, and that's what matters. I mean, you are running this place pretty much on your own. We'll be patient.
I suppose until this all gets worked out, the toggle thing won't be that unbearable. |

| It might be; there should be a button saying click to view at the bottom of the posts of people who have a signature. |
