| I have a theory, spirits are born from emotions and events. Mr. Spender think so at least for the bat-spirit as shown by his theory on this page Here.
Also, Blowhard's personality is reminiscent of many cultures belief/view of a thunder storm. An angry god sending lightning to smite his foes. |

I think Zack has said on his twitter that Isaac's spirit was formed from beliefs of people in thunder gods, sorta kinda like a tulpa. So I imagine that's how spirits are formed. Through emotions and thoughts of humans. |

| hmm okay so that almost works but I remembered something Mr. Spender said and on page 57 of chapter one he says that his theory about the bat-spirit was that it was formed from the enmity of starving animals. so maybe it's the emotions of any animal? but also if it's emotions then how did a spirit like Forge come about, although he does seem to be old so maybe he was born from the thoughts of blacksmiths way back in the day? but what about Ghost train? it kinda feels like we're missing something on the spirit creation front to figure out how they're really made |

| Perhaps all beings have some trace amounts of spectral energy and, as it gets released during fits of strong emotion (see: any spectral in this comic), the stuff just floats around for a while until it forms something? |

| This reminds me of Bakemonogotari. So does that mean that the deer spirit was fromed from fantasies of children? And that the shadow spirit was formed from an emo?
This is also why I believe that Scrapdragon was mainly formed from Maxs' experiences through his childhood. From what I understand, he probably has a lot of grudges. Also that second spirit that is possesing Max. |

| I think Ed's spirit is a mime/old timer spirit. I noticed that when Ed makes paint he actually creates an invisible wall to paint. |

| I also think that the possesed pencil is the limb eating spirit. Frosty Pink is just a nickname for it. |

| Isn't the pencil possessed by the eraser spirit? There's a pretty clear difference between those two powersets. Not to mention Ed and Isabel would likely have said something if that was the case, since they've fought the limb stealer before. "It got stolen" rather than "It got erased" at the very least. I think the limb stealer is just a one time gag. Also- - KingOfStickers wrote:

Not quite, I don't think. His lines of paint always look tubular, and definitely not as though they were on a flat surface. If that was how it worked, the scythe trick from chapter 2 would have been impossible. |

| Frosty Pink is not a nickname. "Frosty pink" is its spectral energy color. |
