This is a really cool "Ghost Train" concept. I like it very much.

So Spender has two spirits in tow. Wonder what it's possessing. It sounds almost like it's inhabiting the sunglasses as well. He must have Spend a lot of time to get his mind in balance.

He must be a very effective time Spender, yes.

My theory was he's a medium AND he's using a tool, the sunglasses. The light spirit seems to live in the glasses so he may be possessed by an evil creepy shadow thing. A very powerful thing. One that can bend reality in drastic ways with shadows becoming physical objects... or gaping holes.

And the light spirit seems to help keep it in check, which is why I love the imagery of the shadow of a cage being projected on the walls over the creepy tentacle thing. And now Spender is using all of it's light energy...

PREDICTION: Next page is him being overwhelmed by the shadow side, turning evil, and trying to kill everyone instead of save them. It's really scary.(JKJK)

Okay so most of what I have to say here is pretty spoilery but if you're looking in this thread you should probably be up to date with the chapter anyway. That being said, SPOILER ALERT!


So Spender just pulled a possibly stupid but desperate move to get to Max. If you'll recall on page 84 of this chapter Lucifer complained "Spirit Fusion will make my job impossible"
Which is exactly what Spender just did after straining Lucifers powers AND using Shadowspirit's powers to mess up Forge like he did.

I predict some serious nasty fallout from his decisions here and it's making me both giddy and scared for our favorite fictional middle schoolers and middle school teacher.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Pretty exciting stuff, since this situation really didn't need to get any more intense. Excess escalation makes me happy.

Still waiting for Johnny's gang to get wrapped up in all of this and become spectrals and then somehow Friendship Fusion becomes a real thing.

Edit: If Johnny's gang gets somehow wrapped up in the spectral shenanigans I think only hilarity could ensue

Personally I think that Johnny being involved would be funny even if he started learning more stuff. It's just in his personality methinks.

I think "Player 2" is either Isabel, since she helps Max during the mission "and saves him later on". Or Spender, who is the main character of the side-story in this chapter.

Huh. I always thought the "Player 2" thing was because everyone was split into groups of two during the mission; Max and Izzy, Ed and Isaac, and either Spender and Forge or an eventual Spender and Agent Day. But your ideas sound a little more likely.
