Which non-spectral character do you think will find out about ghosts first?
My bet is on Suzy because of how nosey she is but we still don't know Johnny's full reaction to seeing Isaac use his powers so he might not know about ghosts yet.

I call place my bet on Colin. It's a long shot, but those odds, i'd be raking in the doe!

I was also thinking Collin because it would be funny if he learned about all this stuff but Suzy never gets to see any of it xD

XD It's not like she would have any way to prove it. Not until she goes past the 'seeing shades' phase and onto the 'superpowers' phase, anyway~ And even then, for normal people, seeing someone having superpowers doesn't necessarily lead to a 'ghosts exist' conclusion. But then again, this is Mayview we're talking about...

I think I'm gonna hedge my bets firmly on Johnny. I think he'll continue to play a big role in the story.

that would make too much sense, so much sense that it just might work! Really though I would die laughing if it is Johnny who finds out and the way he deals with this is by having a snark attack and punches, lots and lots of punches.

My bet is Zoey, if only for the old cliche of all the kids in a family knowing about something magic-y, and the parent being oblivious.

Whoa, never thought of this before. Makes sense... maybe too much sense! If something in the box really is a tool, why wouldn't the spirit in it just influence Violet to unconsciously take it? It's been shown that spirits in tools can influence spectrals' actions to the point of them not realizing what they're doing. And why would the spirit care about "the legitimate way" for Violet to earn it?

I know if a spirit posses a non-spectral, the person will eventually become a spectral, but would a non-spectral that unwittingly uses a tool in their every-day life be effected?
For instance, what if Starchman's using his star system to secretly distribute tools to students?

I've got my bets on Zoey or Johnny. Johnny has already seen the lightning bolts and magnet powers, while Zoey lives with a spectral who is still getting used to his powers. They both seem like good candidates as far as narrative convenience goes as well.

Oh my, that's an interesting way to look at it. But if that's the case, it couldn't be just Strachman. It would have to be the whole faculty. The entire school is a factory for spectrals, every club is an activity club. The actual activity club is only for the misfit students who wouldn't join a club otherwise. Every club is convinced they're the only ones who can see ghosts, every teacher teaches their respective club about spectrals and spirits. Eventually the kids grow into a COMPLETELY OBEDIENT SPECTRAL ARMY. The principal has a secret regime to wipe out all the ghosts and spirits from the realm, a plan unknown even to his greatest lieutenant Mr.Garcia. Oh man, if it's Johnny next, I can see that being awesome~ I get the feeling he's gunna end up a spectral at some point or another anyway - because like I just said, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. Plus, like was already pointed out - he DID kinda see Isaac and Max use their awesome powers of awesomeness...

Heh, sorry, couldn't help myself.

Unfortunately for Johnny, I don't think it's that easy. It seems spectrals are somewhat rare, so Johnny developing powers would take a level of lampshade hanging way beyond what it seems zack would be interested in doing. (Johnny conveniently has spectral powers! What a coincidence! Oh well, lets not dwell on it.)
I believe the only way he could get powers is by being possessed, which is problematic for the same reason as the first method of gaining powers albeit to a lesser degree. On top of all that, I doubt he'd mesh well with the rest of the club and I can't really see his character working in that setting.

Now, on the other hand, I could see a beautiful partnership in the future for him and Suzy- he'd be doing the dirty work of course. My reasoning is that he saw Max and Isaac somparing powers, then he connects the dots and brings his valuable info on the activity club to Suzy. After seeing what she's like, he takes an instant liking to her and they spend the rest of elementary school reigning on a throne of journalistic terror. Shit, I think I'm gedtting carried away again. And really off topic. I'll stop now.
