Yes, I abosolutely think that a story arc where some character go back to Max
s old town is inevitable. Especially because one of Max's main goals right now is to see his mom's ghost. The main thing that stopped him was that the ghost train got tooled. Considering how major plot things would occur with such a meeting, I imagine it won't happen until much later in the story.

I wonder how long until the train recovers enough for its tool to be used? I like the idea of shining the lantern on things to distort them.

I feel like this entire setup has been building up, baiting and switching our expectations- pulling innumerable rugs out from under our feet and making them magically vanish before our eyes- Why did you take that rug, good sir, and where has it gone? Will it ever be safe to stand again?

So now we know that Meta Girl knows /both/ secrets! Yet, we still don't know her name.

I still have to say I love how the panel composition and dialogue kept me guessing the entire time, made me think that the explanation was one less exciting thing compounding an existing situation, and then went ahead and also was the big thing all along. What marvelous misdirection.

The student council at the highschool my sister goes to abbreviates it as StuCo. Suddenly I want this to be a thing.

(I'm also hoping her name is actually Meta Girl or something similar. I mean, we have Ollie Oop, Johnny Jhonny, and Jeffavorite Flavors, so why not?)

The misdirection continues- Meta Girl has spun the script like a plate on an acrobats tallstick.

Did RJ rip a locker door off its hinges?! It must've been Ed, right? Why and how did Ed rip a locker door off its hinges?! No wonder RJ is freaked out. First they see him floating in the woods and next he beats up Johnny (the roughest, toughest, BUFFEST kid in school) and rips apart a solid locker. RJ must legit be fearing for their life.

Yeah it was unclear to me whether Ed did that and threw it at RJ who blocked it, or if RJ was just using it as a shield.
