| Welcome trainers to the Pokémon Rp of the Forums.
I'm Professor Eragon5055 and Ill be explaining to you how the rp is going to work. If you haven't read the pdf's you can download here http://pokemontabletop.com/ , no worries. I'll try to explain things as much as I can, one step at a time when necessary.
First thing you should know about this Rp, is I'm going to trust you guys to do the rolling. That's right, you roll and add the results to your post, I will tell you if it was good enough. As long as no one does anything that's highly suspect of cheating, you probably won't get caught, but please play fair
Another thing is you will be keeping track of your Pokémon and your trainer stats as well as leveling them up. I will tell you how much experience they get and you keep score. Since all Pokémon follow the same experience chart for what levels in the tabletop game, I will post it in the OCC later.
Also another thing, If I request to check on your trainers stats, please pm me them, and if you have any questions also feel free to ask.
As for Mon stats, I highly suggest you keep them in a place that is easy to copy and paste as whenever you throw them out in battle or at the beginning of the battle, I want you to include it in your post. This is because I can't possibly keep track of everyones mons and keep up with their levels. I do highly suggest you download the pdfs because they will tell you what moves the pokemon will learn in the pokedex section.
One more thing before I get into Character Creation, Pokémon and trainers can die in this campaign. They are animals after all and will act like such. It is also possible to befriend a mon instead of trying to beat it up and capture it, making it a willing addition so keep that in mind. Also keep in mind humans are incredibly weak compared to mons, you arevery squishy and high level mons can obliterate ya pretty easily.
Character Creation:
There are six stats you that trainers have. Strength, Constitution, Dexterity and Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma.
For level 0 trainer stats, distribute 64 stat points to whichever stats the player would like as long as each stat has at least 6 points and no stat has more than 14 points.
You then have a modifier that is determined by the stat. The Modifier is neutral at 10 and 11, being a +0, at 8 and 9 its a -1, at 6 and 7 its a -2. If above, it follows the same pattern. 12 and 13 is a +1, 14 and 15 is a +2, and it goes on in both directions.
Example:
Stats
Strength: 8 (-1)
Intelligence:12 (+1)
Constitution:10 (+0)
Wisdom:14 (+2)
Dexterity:10 (+0)
Charisma:10 (+0)
All trainers start at level Zero, and they gain stats and features each level beyond.
Trainer Level/Feats Gained on Level/Stats Gained on Level/
0 0 0
1 1 1
2 1 1
3 1 1
4 1 1
5 1 1
Through 16 same
16 1 1
17 1 0
18 1 1
19 1 0
20 1 1
Ect. I won't go into feats just yetas you wont get those until Level 1, (Which will be quick)
Also note that trainers don't level through battle. They level through events that you might want to keep track of. I can also dish out levels if I felt it is earned.
When you gain a Badge from any Gym Leader. (0-40 Canon)
When you gain a Ribbon you have not earned before in a Contest. (0-20 Canon)
If you can defeat a region’s Elite Four and gain a Hall of Fame Ribbon, you gain four levels. (0-20 Canon)
If you can defeat a Frontier Brain, the Symbol they award you will gain you two levels. (0-24 Canon)
For every ten Pokemon you obtain, you will gain a level. If one of Pokemon evolves, both of their stages in their evolutionary line will be counted towards this count. When you trade a Pokemon away, replace the Pokemon you traded away with the Pokemon you gained for this count unless you own two of the Pokemon you traded away. This is to prevent a party of Trainers from trading and then trading back, just to increase the count of "owned Pokemon". (0-60 Canon)
For every twenty-five Pokemon you identify with your Pokedex, you will gain a level. This is not a shared total with all of the Trainers in your party. You must actually use your Pokedex, to add to this total. Pokemon are everywhere! Be sure to always Pokedex the new ones! (0-24 Canon)
If you do something that your GM believes noteworthy, they may award you a level at that time. (o-∞)
Add all of these canon totals together and that would give 188 ways to level up, not including the GM’s awarded levels. (0-188)
Even though there are over 180 ways to level up, the Trainer level cap is 50. But, most full campaigns, starting at level 0, still only get to the high twenties.
Now THat I have gotten that outa the way, now for the Character Sheet form.
Name: What's your name?
Gender: Are you a boy or a girl?

History: Feel free to keep brief if you want.
The last thing You need to tell me is your ideal team of Pokémon you want in order of most wanted to least and what starter you want. It doesn't have to be a traditional starter but it might be rejected if to powerful. Keep in mind that this is going take place in Johto so don't expect gen 3 or above.
Feel free to ask any questions, and I highly recommend reading the pdfs when you get the chances. |

| Name: Paul Winters
Gender: I'm a boy, Mr. Oak. Would you like me to fetch your glasses?
Age: 14
Description: 5 feet even, somewhat small and thin. He smiles a lot, and tends to be a little bit loud. He's usually dressed in what he considers business attire, which really just means pants and a T-Shirt.
Level: 0
Class: None
Class: None

Intelligence: 14 (+2)
Constitution: 14 (+2)

-----------
Current Hp/ Max Hp: 60/70
Evasion Bonus: N/A
Perception: -1
Bluff/Diplomacy: +1
Damage Bonus: N/A
Knowledge/Academies: +2
History: An amateur salesperson by trade, he sometimes finds himself getting into fights due to the dubious nature of his business. Since he's not big or strong enough to deal with his usual clientele in combat, he's learned how to run instead. Just before this story begins, he was accosted by a particularly angry customer, who, after getting in a few blows, promptly lost interest and walked away. , who has no idea why the man was no longer angry, shrugged it off and went on his way. (This shameless hint at my character's future class aspirations is the reason behind his lowered current HP. Don't pay it too much mind.)
He grew up with a happy family, and while he tried to be friendly and play nice with other kids, he found he derived great pleasure from deceiving others. It soon became his pass time of choice, and later, his career. He tries to play the fool, to lower the suspicions of potential customers, but is really quite intellegent.
Desired Pokemon: Ghastly, Abra, Totodile, Nidoran, Smeargle, Rhyhorn (I put the first evolution forms of the Pokemon I want, since it seemed appropriate.)
Desired Starter: Vulpix

| Glasses are appreciated, I have gender blindness.
Character accepted. I do like to say that Totodile and, Nidoran (male or female) make great starters as well. For Nidoran and Vulpix, I will have to give you them in a special way and Totodile can just be given by the Prof.
If you want to change your mind on the starter, feel free. The Vulpix is fine, just letting you know that if you want it as a starter, its prolly going to be the family pet at first or a gift from a relative.
(P.S. The Ghastly is also fine as a starter, but someone else is hellbent on one) |

| I'm pretty set on Vulpix, because Ninetails is basically the coolest. One question, though, is it possible to find the standard starter pokemon in the wild in the RPG version? Just wondering if I'll have another chance as totodile if I pass it up now, really.
Also, I forgot to put the desired pokemon in order of how much I want them, so I edited it just now. I thought you should be made aware of that. |

| If someone else picks Gastly as their starter, will that lower my chances of acquiring one later? You'll notice it's still first on my list, so... |

| Modifiers are smaller numbers based off of your stat total that are used for rolls of various types. Since this is a forum session, the players will have little to no interaction with them.
They're basically a way of applying your stat to a die roll without making it far too easy to for the roll to succeed if your stat is high enough. |

| What von said. Say your character is going to try a feat of strength like, holding a bridge up to let others cross or jump a large canyon. Your modifier determines how much of a bonus you get to your 20 sided dice roll in that instance.
Like I said, I'm going to have you guys do all the rolling for your characters, so If I ask you for a strength check or a wisdom check, you look at the appropriate stat and add the modifiers of that stat to your dice roll and tell me the results. I will then tell you if it was high enough (Like holding up the bridge for just one person I'd say it take you at least a 10 or 12 to hold it up for like 5 minutes, more people raises that bar, 3 people could be a 16 or a really big guy might take a 17 or higher.) |

| Name: Luna Ticora Graves
Gender: Girl
Age: 15
Description: In shape, has a very innocent look to her, while maintaining a very pretty face. Despite this she is only 15 and as such has the figure of one, even if that figure is that of a 15 yr old gymnast's it is still a 15 year old one at that.
Her hair is dyed purple which offsets her pale skin. her eyes are deep blue with a small glimmer of light in them, which you'd almost never get to see.
A hood blocks Luna's face almost entirely, save for her smile, and a small lock of hair that hangs out of her hood. Underneath the hood are two pouches and a violet skin tight suit( think like jogging suit) to make it easier for her to run without getting caught by her clothes. .
Level: 0 (of course)
Class: None (You can get these at Level 2)
Class: None (You can get these at Level 2)
Class: None (You can get these at Level 2)
Class: None (You can get this one at Lv. 25)
Strength: 7(-2)
Intelligence: 15 (+2)
Constitution: 7 (-2)
Wisdom: 9 (-1)
Dexterity: 13(+2)
Charisma: 14 (+2)
Current Hp/ Max Hp: 30/35
Evasion Bonus: (+2)
Perception: (Wis bonus)
Bluff/Diplomacy: (+2)
Damage Bonus: (Str bonus if Positive)
Knowledge/Academies: (+2)
History: Luna had always been a trouble maker, and a freeloader, and even a bit of a thief. She had lived with both of her parents, her father was a doctor and her mother entered, and won contests with her pokemon . This being said Luna had a rather easy life, unfortunately easy wasn't fulfilling enough for Luna. Because the girl took to sneaking out of the house at night to see poke battles and steal money to place bets on them.
Her parents decided that in order to teach her responsibility while also granting her wish to go out and live life, They would send her out into the world as a poke trainer, unfortunately Luna didn't see it that way.
Desired Pokemon:
Gengar, Duskull, Haunter, , Abra, Espeon , and Ralts
Starter Pokemon: Ghastly
(Im pretty sure i messed up somewhere lemme know If I did, or if you found any issues)

| It's good, only a couple of things are wonky. 30/35 hp, this means you want to start the game a little bruised. Von has a reason for his character, (not sure why) so do you want the same?
Second: If your going for a Psychic character (Just like Von) High Intelligence and High Constitution is recommended. I'm pretty sure High Intelligence is all you need to get into the class, but High Con helps a lot since abilities in the Psychic class tend to cost health, and some Advance Classes require High Con.
As your stats are, With a high Charisma and High Dexterity, Luna would be an excellent Pokémon Ranger as those two stats are the ones Rangers focus on the most. That's cool if you want to go that route or try a Psychic anyway, just giving you the heads up.
I just felt on mentioning this since you were fixated on having powers (Mystics get powers to and you could consider Martial Artists physically superpowered)
All of this is fine and you do not have to change if you don't feel like it.
Third and Final: Duskull and Ralts are both Gen 3. I t is possible for you to encounter them, but don't get your hopes up. This is a gen 2 campaign.
And Asking for a Gengar, a Haunter and a Gastly, are you asking for 3 mons or is just one gastly that will evolve eventually to all forms enough?
This is the only point I wish you to clarify. |

| Ace trainer, ya prolly want to buff up your strength and con then, a lot. Ace trainers focus on those. They suck at Wisdom
Ace Trainer Requirements: Str 13 and Con 13.
Each level you get to add 1 point to a stat. It will take you to Lv. 12 to open Ace Trainer up to you with your current stats, which is fine, you can do that if you want, you can take your class anytime you want after level 2, just letting you know. |

(Sorry for weirdness, the mood struck me. The point is, go to the pokemon tabletop adventures website and download the informational PDFs. Then, read up on the classes and their abilities before you make a decision. You'll probably end up infinitely more pleased with the end result. Good luck!)

| I was just reminded of something. Do we start the game with any funds? I couldn't find anything about it in the player's handbook, and apparently I'm not supposed to read the GM one. |

| Yes, Everyone has funds. Ya all will start with 3000 (Equivalent to 30 bucks) and one potion. You can keep track of your inventory.
P.S. Thanks for reminding me.
P.P.S. Potions can be used for humans to in the game, so ya might want to stock up on those. |
